Marital status: Married
Children: 3
Occupation: Instrumentation Engineer - Metrologist
Comment:

After I graduated, I wandered through various colleges and universities - Butler, IUK, IU-Bloomington, IUPUI. I finally gave up on that route and joined the US Navy in December of '91. In the Navy, I became a reactor operator on the USS Eisenhower (think Homer Simpson, only out at sea). I married Melanie Hollinger in July of '94 from Maconaquah. I got out of the Navy in '97 and went to work as a nuclear instrument technician at a civilian power plant in Virginia. We came back to Indiana in the Fall of 2000, and I went to work for Eli Lilly and Company as a process instrument tech. Since then I have worked my way up to an engineering position in the field of metrology, which is incredibly nerdy, and I absolutely love it. Melanie and I have three great kids (two girls and a boy) and live on the East side of Indianapolis.

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Registered nurse
Comment: I thought I should update my profile since I first posted it about 9 years ago. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Mark Heredos since 1989. I graduated in 1991 from IUPUI with my BSN.  I started working at St. Joe in 1992 and have worked there as an RN every since. We were blessed to have two wonderful children. Jacob is 22 and Abby is 18. Jacob just graduated from Indiana University Bloomington and our daughter, Abby will be a freshman there this fall.  My husband and I opened a furniture store with Kandi and Ken Lucas (also KHS 1986 Alumni) back in 2003. I am not sure I will be able to attend our 30th reunion but hope to see some pictures on facebook.

Dean Hockney

Marital status: Single
Occupation: Government Operations
Comment: After graduation, I spent time working for various sports publications before joining the Air Force in 1990. I spent 9+ great years serving our country, and had the oportunity to be stationed for five years in Europe (Italy) and Asia (Turkey), and a year in Alaska. My last tour was in the Tacoma, Wash., area. And yes, I visited a few places I can't talk about. I was Honorably Discharged in the spring of 1999 and returned to Kokomo to lead the sports department at Kokomo Perspective. I spent five great years working at the newspaper, first as the Sports Editor and then the Managing Editor. In 2004, I published a book called, “Kats with a K: The 100 Year History of Kokomo High School Boy’s Basketball.” I left the Perspective in 2004 to take a position as a civilian working for the U.S. Army in Baghdad (for all of you soldiers from our class -- Hoo-ah!). I stayed in Baghdad through 2010, leaving as the Theater Director of Media Relations for the LOGCAP project (serving 50,000 employees in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Turkey, UAE, Djibouti, and Georgia - and yes, I visited many of these countries). I now own Hockney Publishing in Kokomo and publish the Sports Journal of Central Indiana - a weekly digital sports magazine. It is free of charge, so if you want a subscription, drop me an email. Our revenue comes from advertising, so if you want to buy an ad in the Sports Journal, let me know. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Comment: Wow! Has it really been 20 years? I have had the fortunate experience of being my own boss for many years now. From owning auto dealerships, pest control companies, to commercial janitorial firms. I have always been an entrepreneur. I love to experience new things like skydiving, scuba, and most of all traveling. I have visited 48 of the states, and over 60 countries. I have two beautiful daughters. Abby is 9, and Arin is 6. I reside in Carmel Indiana.
