Comment:

Hi, everyone!  At the time I write this, our 35-year reunion is just around the corner.  Where does the time go?  Life has taken lots of twists and turns, had lots of ups and downs these past 35 years for my daughter and me to say the least, but through it all, God has been so gracious and faithful.  I continue to be a legal editor working from home, which has been such a blessing given the medical conditions I have begun experiencing as well as the traumatic brain injury my daughter suffers from due to an accident she had and her multiple medical conditions (which are also why I will be unable to attend the reunion).  My daughter strives every day to make her own way in this world, unable to take the path others her age take, the path most of us took (for better or worse), and God has blessed her with a job at Disney World where she loves making magic for guests, and He has blessed us with all the amazing experiences that come along with living so close to The Happiest Place on Earth and among the international community surrounding it.  We have always dreamed of traveling and were able to spend a bit of time in Europe for my daughter's birthday several years back.  We're unsure what the future holds in terms of travel, but if we can't go to the world, at least we live in a place where the world comes to us.

I wish everyone the best and ask each of you to consider just how blessed we truly are.  We live in one of the most prosperous nations on earth due to its Christian foundation and roots, and the freedoms and affluence we experience can easily be taken for granted.  We see it happening every day at an increasingly alarming rate, and we see the devastating effects on our country, our families, our children, our own hearts and minds.  There is great goodness in this world, but there is great evil as well.  How much more is this true of each one of us?  This world is in need of a savior.  We as individuals are all in need of a savior.  Jesus Christ is that Savior, and I pray that each of you and your families have or will come to know Him and draw close to Him today and each and every day to come.  In the words of Oswald Chambers, Jesus "will see us through time, death and eternity."  We must always remember this.  And we must always remember that apart from Him, there is no other hope.

Even though I may not get the pleasure of seeing most of you since our last days together in 1986, if you trust in the Lord and know Him as your Savior, then we'll meet again one day in heaven.  And I truly hope and pray that I will see all of you there!!

Lisa Soblotne (Fager)

Marital status: Married
Children: 4
Occupation: Wife and Mother
Comment: Life's been a roller coaster! After school, I started college, but my beautiful daughter sidelined plans. My children are my world, Ashley will be 23 in June and Kory will be 19 in March.  My step-daughter, Lauren just turned 21 and step-son Nathan is 18.  I married my high-school sweetheart, Doug Soblotne, 20 years after we dated in school, and have been goofy happy for 7 years! I worked in sales for years, but the company collapsed under the economy 3 years ago, so I am a full-time mom, wife and caregiver for my parents.  A lot of this class are Facebook friends.  Should be fun to see everyone again!

James Sponaugle

Marital status: Married
Children: 0
Occupation: Software Engineer
Comment: After high school, I went to Purdue University. There I co-op'd with the Navy (as a civilian - not enlisted) while getting my electrical engineering degree. After graduation, I continued working for the Navy for around ten years, then decided to move out to Portland, Oregon, after a visit to see my brother. I've had a couple of jobs there, working in software engineering and am currently working on Linux development for IBM. Let's see, I was married for quite a while; around ten years, was single for a while, and am now happily married again to a lovely lady named Marsha.  I've done some mountain climbing, and have managed to drag myself up to the summits of Mt Hood and Mt Adams while I lived Portland.  I moved back to Kokomo in late 2008 (still working for IBM, but from home).  I've just bought a house out in the country near Lafayette, and plan to move out there later this summer to play farmer on the side.
